Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, informed President Prabowo Subianto that Indonesia’s economic growth remains stable amid global turbulence. Over the next three months, the Indonesian economy will continue to advance, keeping the state budget under control. “Indonesia’s economic growth and activities are actually still in a stable position for the next three months,” Luhut explained during his meeting with President Prabowo at the State Palace, quoted from Kontan on Wednesday (22/4/2026). In addition to efficiency measures, state revenues from coal and palm oil exports are supporting domestic economic stability. “We are assisted by additional revenues from export commodities such as coal and palm oil,” he said. When domestic food and energy stability is maintained, the investment climate improves. Ultimately, investors are willing to invest capital in Indonesia. The government intends to establish the Indonesia Financial Center to attract foreign investors. “It is hoped that Indonesia will not only be able to maintain stability but also seize opportunities to make a leap in progress,” Luhut stated. Japan has invested nearly 30 billion US dollars (approximately Rp514 trillion), South Korea 10 billion US dollars (Rp171 trillion), and China remains consistent with high investments. Investment realisation for the 2025-2029 period is targeted at Rp13,000 trillion. According to him, despite global turbulence, other countries remain interested in investing in Indonesia. “Regardless of the current situation, wars, global geopolitics, and global geo-economics, their interest and willingness to invest in Indonesia is very high, still very good,” he explained. It is hoped that investors will continue to flock to Indonesia and that global turbulence will soon end.
