Luhut: Digitalisation can resolve land-use change issues in Bali
Denpasar (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Government’s Digital Transformation Acceleration Committee, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, said that with the integrated digitalisation currently being developed by the government, the problem of land-use change in Bali can be resolved.
“The issue of order and land-use change will no longer be tolerated with this digitalisation,” he said after the Coordination Meeting on the Expansion of the Digital-Based Social Assistance Pilot Project using Digital Public Infrastructure in Denpasar, Bali, Thursday.
Although currently, Government Technology or government digitalisation based on AI, which integrates more than 27,000 government applications, is still focused on the digitalisation of social assistance, the digitalisation of business licensing and the integration of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) are also the main agendas of the committee.
For this reason, adjustments will also be made to the data collection on land-use change so that all development in Bali will be orderly.
The former Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment said that the World Bank has stated that Bali is the jewel of Indonesia, so land-use change that has an impact on damage in Bali will make tourists reluctant to enter Indonesia.
This condition is also related to other issues outside of land-use change, namely the unruly behaviour of tourists which can damage the image of tourism.
“If Bali is not good, then people will also be reluctant to come to Indonesia. So Bali must be orderly, so tourists who are not of good quality, we have coordinated during my time as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, they will be deported. From here, those who cause drug problems, fights, and investments that take over MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) here, we will deport them,” said Luhut.
According to him, Bali will not fade just because it loses 10,000 unruly foreign tourists, in fact, Bali will be even more loved if it becomes more high-quality, including its tourists.
However, regarding the issue of waste, he ensured that the construction of waste processing into electricity (Waste-to-Energy) will be announced next week.
“So we hope that 18 months from April, Bali will start its waste-to-energy process,” he said.
