Luggage supervision
Luggage supervision
From Bisnis Indonesia
Early this month I returned from an overseas trip. My two
suitcases were labeled "priority", which meant that my luggage
should have been taken out of the aircraft before those of the
other passengers.
Baggage should remain under the supervision of the airline
companies when it is on the conveyor belts because, as often can
happen, people not paying attention might take the wrong baggage.
After I had waited for more than 20 minutes, I did not see any
sign of my baggage. Feeling uneasy and restless, I asked a member
of the airport staff, at the incoming end of the conveyor belt,
where my luggage was, only to be told that there was no baggage
left. Finally I noticed that my luggage was lying near a somewhat
thin man.
When I went to collect it, the man pretended to look around,
as if he was searching for something. I did not know what he was
really doing and was not suspicious of him. Even so, I hope the
airline's staff takes better care of its passengers' luggage,
until such time as it can be collected by its owners.
