Lubuk Alung Access to Ease Padang-Pariaman Travel

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) is continuing the construction of the Lubuk Alung Access on the Pekanbaru–Padang Toll Road (Sicincin–Padang Section) to facilitate connectivity and public mobility in West Sumatra. The 2.4-kilometre access road is expected to make travel from Padang City to Pariaman and several other areas easier, more efficient, and better integrated.

Currently, the construction progress of the Lubuk Allag Access has reached 24.06 per cent. The development is being carried out following the 100 per cent operational status of the main Siccinin–Padang section. Ongoing works include embankment, bored piles for Abutment 1 of the Irrigation Bridge, slab overpass interchanges, box culverts, and lean concrete at various project locations.

All works are being executed in stages, prioritising construction quality, precision, and the implementation of occupational safety standards across the project area to ensure optimal development in accordance with regulations.

“We are committed to completing the Lubuk Alung Access construction optimally, paying close attention to the quality of work and the application of health and safety aspects throughout the project area,” said Hamdani, as quoted from a release on Monday (18/5/2026).

“All work is being carried out according to construction standards and under strict supervision so that it can ultimately provide maximum benefits to the community,” he added.

The existence of the Lubuk Alung Access will facilitate toll road users heading towards the Lubuk Alung area and its surroundings. Furthermore, the access will improve connectivity by providing a direct route between the Padang–Siccinin Toll Road and the activity centres in Lubuk Alung. With this access, the mobility of people to and from Padang, Bukittinggi, and Pariaman is expected to become smoother and more integrated.

According to Hamdani, the Lubuk Alung Access is also expected to support the social and economic activities of the local community, including smoothing daily mobility, goods distribution, and access to residential areas, trade centres, and various other destinations.

“The presence of this access is part of Hutama Karya’s effort to provide toll road infrastructure that not only connects regions but also provides added value for the growth of the areas it passes through,” he said.
