Lt Gen Robi Herbawan Officially Appointed as Head of TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Robi Herbawan has been appointed as the new Head of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS). Prior to this, Robi served as Head of the Defence Intelligence Information and Communication Agency (BIK Intelhan) at the Ministry of Defence (Kemhan). Robi’s promotion was confirmed by Brig Gen Rico Ricardo Sirait, Head of Information at the Ministry of Defence General Secretariat. “It is true that Lt Gen TNI Robi Herbawan has now been entrusted with the role of Head of BAIS TNI. Previously, he served as Head of the Information and Communication Intelligence Agency of the Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Defence,” Rico stated when contacted on Thursday (7/5). He added that the appointment is part of the regeneration process and organisational strengthening to support the effectiveness of national defence strategic intelligence duties.
