LSPR and SBM ITB Launch Mini MBA for Future Leaders
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The LSPR Institute of Communication and Business, in collaboration with the School of Business and Management at the Bandung Institute of Technology (SBM ITB), has launched a programme designed to strengthen business leadership capabilities.
This initiative is realised through the ‘Mini MBA in Strategic Communication and Business Leadership’, which is designed to enhance a leader’s ability to integrate business strategy and communication.
“The needs of today’s leaders are no longer compartmentalised. The success of business strategy execution depends heavily on how effectively leaders can align actions with stakeholder expectations,” said Prita Kemal Gani, Founder & CEO of LSBPR Institute, in East Bekasi on Friday.
According to Prita, this programme addresses leadership requirements amidst technological changes, market dynamics, and increasingly complex stakeholder demands. LSPR Institute and SBM ITB believe that sound business decisions do not necessarily guarantee success if they fail to gain support from employees, customers, investors, regulators, or the public.
LSPR Institute brings expertise in strategic communication, corporate reputation, crisis communication, and stakeholder management. This collaboration allows for the design of strategies that possess not only financial value but also secure support from the broader business ecosystem.
Prita explained that the ‘Mini MBA’ programme integrates four key competency areas: business strategy and decision-making, innovation and value creation, strategic communication and stakeholder engagement, and reputation, branding, and crisis communication. Through the combination of these four fields, participants are expected to view business issues more holistically.
“Future leaders are not enough to simply determine where a business should go. They must also be able to make people believe why the business must go there,” said Prita.
Participants are required not only to be able to read market conditions and identify business opportunities but also to understand the impact of decisions on people, organisations, reputation, and stakeholder relationships. The programme targets senior managers, heads of business units, corporate communication leaders, public relations professionals, and aspiring leaders.
“Business and communication skills are becoming increasingly inseparable in facing today’s leadership needs,” said Yuliana Riana Prasetyawati, Head of the LSPR x SBM ITB Mini MBA Programme Team and Dean of the LSPR Institute Faculty of Business.
Meanwhile, Donald Crestofel Lantu, Vice Dean for Resources at SBM ITB, stated that impactful communication can support business strategy. “Transformative leaders are those who can connect things that are often separated: strategy and communication, business and society, performance and purpose, decision-making and trust, and thought and action,” explained Donald.
According to him, this programme was born as a response to the needs of future leaders who must be able to identify business opportunities, create innovation, articulate vision, and manage reputation and stakeholders holistically. Donald hopes that the programme will be able to create leaders who can explain the reasoning behind decisions and inspire others to move forward together.
