LSI Survey Reveals 95 Percent Satisfaction with Dedi Mulyadi's Leadership in West Java

After 1.5 years in office since being inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto on 20 February 2025, the performance of the West Java Provincial Government has received a positive response from the public. Results from the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) show that public satisfaction with the performance of the West Java Provincial Government is relatively high, with 51.5 percent of respondents stating they are satisfied and 8.7 percent very satisfied, while 30.4 percent rated it as moderate, 7.3 percent as poor, and 0.8 percent as very poor. Meanwhile, the satisfaction rate for the performance of the Governor of West Java reached 95 percent, whereas the satisfaction rate for the Deputy Governor stood at 59 percent. LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan stated that this 1.5-year evaluation is a crucial momentum, considering the provincial administration has approximately 3.5 years remaining to realise its campaign promises amidst the challenge of managing a province with Indonesia’s largest population of 50.34 million people. Djayadi Hanan revealed that the high level of public satisfaction with Dedi Mulyadi is driven by public perception of economic conditions, governance, and the effectiveness of regional programmes. ‘The public satisfaction level with the governor is at a very high 95.4 percent. This figure is driven, among other things, by an evaluation of the economy which is considered stable, as well as satisfaction with the implementation of general governance,’ he said during the presentation of the survey results in Bandung. He added that the difference in satisfaction levels between the governor and deputy governor is influenced by several factors, noting that the deputy governor’s role often remains in the shadow of the regional head, leaving the public largely unaware of his contributions and performance. The survey also noted that economic conditions in West Java are considered to be in the moderate category at 44.3 percent, an assessment deemed better than the national economic condition which is still considered less favourable. However, several areas, including Tasikmalaya and Pangandaran, were noted as having less favourable economic conditions.
