LSI Survey Reveals 95 Percent Satisfaction with Dedi Mulyadi's Leadership in West Java

Bandung, VIVA – Having marked 1.5 years in office since being inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto on 20 February 2025, the performance of the West Java Provincial Government has received a positive response from the public.

The results of the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) show that public satisfaction with the performance of the West Java Provincial Government is categorised as high. As many as 51.5 percent of respondents said they were satisfied, 8.7 percent very satisfied, 30.4 percent considered it adequate, 7.3 percent said it was poor, and 0.8 percent considered it very poor.

Meanwhile, the satisfaction rate with the performance of the West Java Governor has reached 95 percent, whilst satisfaction with the West Java Deputy Governor stands at 59 percent.

LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan said the evaluation of 1.5 years of leadership marks a crucial momentum, given that the West Java Provincial Government has only around 3.5 years remaining to deliver on its campaign promises amid the challenge of managing the most populous province in Indonesia, with 50.34 million residents.

Djayadi Hanan revealed that the high level of public satisfaction with Dedi Mulyadi is influenced by public perceptions of the economic situation, governance, and the effectiveness of regional programmes.

“Public satisfaction with the governor stands at a very high 95.4 percent. This figure is driven in part by an economic assessment considered stable, as well as satisfaction with the general implementation of governance,” said Djayadi whilst presenting the survey results at èL Hotel Bandung, Jalan Merdeka, Bandung City, on Thursday, 23 July 2026.

Djayadi said the difference in satisfaction levels between the governor and deputy governor is influenced by several factors. According to him, the deputy governor’s role often lies in the shadow of the regional head, so the public remains largely unaware of their contributions and performance.

“Although satisfaction with the government is quite high, there is a significant difference between satisfaction with the governor and the deputy governor. One factor is that the deputy governor tends to stand in the governor’s shadow, so the public does not yet know much about their performance,” he said.

On the other hand, the survey also recorded that economic conditions in West Java were assessed as moderate at 44.3 percent. This assessment is considered better than the national economic situation, which is still regarded as poor.

“Nevertheless, there remain a number of areas assessed as having poor economic conditions, including Tasikmalaya, Pangandaran, and several other regions,” he said.
