The construction of the LRT project towards Manggarai Station is being accelerated. Chairman of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Nova Harivan Paloh, hopes that flat-rate parking spaces will be prepared.

“The public wants to know where to park their motorbikes and cars. For example, on Jalan Rawamangun, there’s Pasar Pramuka, so in that area, it could be collaborated with the market,” said Nova to reporters on Thursday (14/5/2026).

He hopes the parking tariffs will ease the burden on LRT passengers. Nova wants non-progressive parking tariffs.

“As far as I know, at the MRT in Lebak Bulus, the parking tariff is flat. (I hope the LRT parking tariff is) flat (as well),” he continued.

Nova asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to provide parking spaces at every LRT station. He asked the Provincial Government to find locations for these parking spaces to support passengers.

“Collaborate or prepare spaces, for example, under the station there are parking pockets, just collaborate, which ones belong to Dishub, which ones can be collaborated with DKI Dishub,” he added.

LRT Manggarai Accelerated

The Jakarta LRT Phase 1B is known to have entered the testing and commissioning stage on 29-30 April 2026. Testing was conducted on a 3.6 kilometre track from Velodrome to Pasar Pramuka as part of preparations for operations.

This stage is a crucial process to ensure the entire system runs optimally and safely, from tracks, signalling, electricity, to operational integration before it is used by the public.

With construction progress exceeding 90 percent, the project undertaken by Waskita Karya is increasingly approaching the operational stage and is expected to carry tens of thousands of passengers per day, while also improving connectivity and reducing congestion in Jakarta.

DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono hopes that after all testing processes are completed, the LRT service to Manggarai Station can be inaugurated and fully operational according to the target in August 2026.

“I hope that once inaugurated in August, it will operate fully,” said Pramono.
