LRT Manggarai Ready for Inauguration by Prabowo, Check Fares and Operating Hours
The Jakarta LRT Velodrome–Manggarai route is set to begin operations soon. The 12.2 km route with 11 stations will cut the journey from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai to 28 minutes.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, together with officials from the Jakarta Provincial Government and the Presidential Palace protocol team, inspected the readiness of the Jakarta LRT Velodrome–Manggarai route on Monday (24/8/2026). The inspection was carried out as part of the final checks before the service is inaugurated and fully operational.
In terms of construction, physical progress on the project has reached 98.20%. The construction of the track and elevated line has been declared 100% complete, while the remaining work consists of testing by the Ministry of Transportation before the service becomes fully operational.
Once inaugurated, the Jakarta LRT will serve the public every day from 05.00 to 24.00 WIB. The Jakarta Provincial Government has proposed the inauguration for 26 August 2026, with the timing to be adjusted to President Prabowo Subianto’s schedule.
The fare for the Jakarta LRT Velodrome–Manggarai route has been set at a flat rate of Rp5,000 until October 2026. This fare applies during the transition period while the Jakarta Provincial Government and the Jakarta Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) prepare and establish the official fare.
The Velodrome–Manggarai route will extend the Jakarta LRT line to 12.2 kilometres with 11 stations. The presence of this route also cuts travel time from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai to around 28 minutes.
Manggarai LRT Station will also become an integration hub with Transjakarta, the KRL Commuter Line, and the Airport Rail Link. Direct integration between the LRT and the Manggarai Station area is targeted to be operational by September 2026.
With the connection of the Kelapa Gading to Manggarai route, the number of Jakarta LRT passengers in the initial phase is estimated to reach 60,000–80,000 people per day. The Jakarta Provincial Government hopes the service will encourage more people to switch from private vehicles to public transport.
