The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government plans to inaugurate the LRT Jakarta Phase 1B route this month. The new 6.4-kilometre track, connecting Velodrome to Manggarai, is expected to be officiated by President Prabowo Subianto. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that the new line will make it easier for the public to use public transport in Jakarta. With the LRT Jakarta, the travel time from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai will be only 28 minutes. The total length of the LRT Jakarta track will reach 12.2 kilometres and pass through 11 stations once Phase 1B is operational. The investment required to build the LRT Jakarta from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai reached approximately Rp 12.1 trillion. Pramono confirmed that his administration will immediately connect the LRT Jakarta line from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas. With this new line, which is targeted for completion in 2028, the public will need only about 30 minutes to travel from Kelapa Gading to Dukuh Atas. He noted that the journey from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas would take just two minutes. Pramono expressed confidence that this would become a new backbone of transportation in Jakarta, as it is estimated to be able to accommodate or transport around 80,000 passengers daily. He has coordinated with the central government for the inauguration of LRT Jakarta Phase 1B to be conducted directly by President Prabowo, though he has not yet confirmed the exact date, hoping it will take place in August.
