LRT Jabodebek Trials Additional Morning Peak-Hour Services
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has begun trialling additional LRT Jabodebek services during the morning peak hours to accommodate high public mobility towards activity centres in Jakarta. The trial runs on working days from 8 to 12 June 2026, through the operation of Extraordinary Trains (KLB) on several routes with high user density in the morning. LRT Jabodebek Public Relations Manager Radhitya Mardika said the additional trips are based on user movement patterns showing high passenger volumes in the morning window. “The frequency trial is an adaptive step by KAI to meet the mobility needs of LRT Jabodebek users during the morning peak. KAI has observed increased user density, especially at main departure stations heading to Jakarta’s activity centres,” Radhitya stated. In the trial, an additional service on the Jatimulya–Dukuh Atas BNI route operates at 07.14 WIB, between the regular schedules of 07.08 WIB and 07.16 WIB. Meanwhile, an additional Harjamukti–Dukuh Atas BNI service runs at 07.24 WIB, between the regular schedules of 07.22 WIB and 07.30 WIB. According to LRT Jabodebek operational data, several stations record high user volumes on working days between 06.00 and 08.00 WIB. Harjamukti Station has the largest number of users, averaging 6,224 people per day. Cikoko Station, integrated with KRL Commuter Line and Transjakarta services, serves an average of 3,432 users per day during the morning peak. Cikunir 1 Station records an average of 3,274 users per day, Jatimulya Station 2,786 users per day, and Jatibening Baru Station around 2,638 users per day. KAI stated that the KLB operation does not disrupt existing regular services. The additional trips are expected to help distribute passengers more evenly and reduce crowding at stations and inside train carriages. Radhitya said the company will continue to monitor the trial results as evaluation material for future service development. “KAI will keep evaluating LRT Jabodebek user travel patterns to deliver public transport services that are safe, comfortable, and responsive to the needs of urban communities,” he said.
