LRT Jabodebek Public Relations Manager, Radhitya Mardika, stated that behind the daily train journeys, routine inspections and maintenance of infrastructure are carried out to ensure all track components are in optimal condition. “The safety and punctuality of LRT Jabodebek travel depend not only on train operations but also on the reliability of the infrastructure. Therefore, track inspections and maintenance are conducted routinely and continuously,” he said.

Unlike conventional railway lines that generally use rail sleepers, LRT Jabodebek operates a plinth track system, a track structure mounted directly onto a concrete construction. This system is designed to provide high stability, supporting the safety and reliability of LRT Jabodebek journeys. A fastening system is installed on this structure, functioning to keep the rail position precise as trains pass over it. This component plays a crucial role in maintaining track stability and supporting smooth daily operations.

As a mode of transport serving hundreds of trips each day, the reliability of the rail track is a primary factor in maintaining the safety and punctuality of LRT Jabodebek operations. To keep the plinth track in optimal condition, LRT Jabodebek conducts daily track inspections and maintenance after operations conclude. These activities are carried out across all operational lines to ensure the infrastructure continues to meet safety standards.

Handling measures include repairs to plinth tracks that have suffered minor damage. Additionally, officers can perform concrete injections if indications of voids within the structure are found, a step taken to maintain the strength of the track construction and support long-term track reliability. Beyond daily inspections, LRT Jabodebek also carries out periodic checks on track geometry, rail conditions, switches, and the fastening system. Geometry measurements are performed to ensure the track continues to meet safety and comfort standards, allowing LRT Jabodebek journeys to operate safely, comfortably, and on time.

Radhitya emphasised that infrastructure maintenance activities are an inseparable part of efforts to maintain safety and service quality for LRT Jabodebek users.
