LRT Jabodebek Extension to Bogor Enters Study Phase

The plan to extend the Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) to Bogor has entered the study phase, conducted by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) and PT Adhi Karya (Persero). The Director General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation, Allan Tandiono, stated that the extension to Bogor already possesses a legal basis.

“Regarding this extension, the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) has been in place since 2015,” said Allan, as reported on Monday (29/6).

In addition to the feasibility studies, he noted that the Ministry of Transportation is awaiting funding schemes from KAI and Adhi Karya, which will be utilised to realise the extension of the service.

Allan did not provide further details regarding the development of the LRT Jabodebek to Bogor route, as the Ministry of Transportation is still awaiting the results of the studies being prepared by PT KAI and PT Adhi Karya.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) previously revealed plans to extend the LRT Jabodebek route to Bogor. According to the state-owned enterprise, this plan has been included in the company’s development master plan.

I Gede Darmayusa, Director of Portfolio Management and Information Technology at PT KAI, detailed that the ongoing studies include business potential, route determination, the development of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) areas, and other supporting elements.
