LRT and KRL to Be Integrated at Manggarai Station, Passengers Won't Need to Exit

The Jakarta LRT and KRL Commuter Line at Manggarai Station are set to be integrated. In the future, passengers switching between modes will not need to exit Manggarai Station to transfer from the KRL to the LRT, or vice versa.

This was stated by the President Director of Jakpro, Iwan Takwin, while accompanying the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, during an inspection of the Jakarta LRT’s readiness at Manggarai Station, South Jakarta, on Thursday (13/8/2026).

“Going forward, we will collaborate with KAI to connect this area and make it a single, new CBD facility,” Iwan said. He explained that the LRT-KRL integration would be designed to make passenger transfers more comfortable. Passengers moving from the KRL to the LRT, or the other way around, will be able to connect directly with KAI.

Governor Pramono Anung previously stated that the Manggarai area has the potential to become one of the main transportation hubs in Jakarta because it is a meeting point for various modes of transport. “Perhaps in the future, this place will become a new main hub in Jakarta besides, of course, Dukuh Atas,” Pramono said.

Pramono also mentioned that the Manggarai area would be developed through the construction of several new Transit Oriented Developments (TODs). “Later, this place, whether carried out by the central government, the Jakarta government, or the private sector, will see many new TODs built,” he said. He added that the area would become crowded with people visiting because it is one of Jakarta’s key transportation points.
