LPSK Verifies Justice Collaborator Request from Former Deputy Head of BGN Sonny Sonjaya

Jakarta - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is verifying a justice collaborator (JC) application submitted by former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Body (BGN) Sonny Sonjaya in connection with an alleged corruption case involving the Free Nutritious Meals programme.

LPSK Deputy Chair Wawan Fahrudin stated on Wednesday that the application is currently at the document verification stage being handled by the LPSK application intake team. “At present, the application process is still in the document verification stage by the application intake team,” Wawan said.

LPSK is now gathering data, facts, and information, as well as coordinating with law enforcement officials and related parties to test the statements and evidence submitted through the suspect’s legal counsel. “The LPSK will review the application within 30 working days after the application is declared complete,” he added.

The JC application relates to the alleged corruption case in the governance of the 2025-2026 Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, which is being handled by the Attorney General’s Office.

Sonny Sonjaya’s legal counsel, Krisna Murti, said all requirements for the JC application have been fulfilled and are now being assessed by LPSK. “We are still submitting the JC application to LPSK. All requirements have been completed by us,” Krisna told journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Previously, the Attorney General’s Office had rejected the JC application submitted by Sonny Sonjaya. The Director of Investigations at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, stated that Sonny did not meet the requirements to be a JC in the case of alleged trading of Nutrition Service Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) locations.

Syarief explained that JC applications are regulated under Law Number 31 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 13 of 2006 on Witness and Victim Protection, as well as Supreme Court Circular Letter Number 4 of 2011. According to Syarief, the results of the examination and investigation into Sonny’s statements indicate that the individual is suspected of being the main perpetrator in the case. Furthermore, Sonny is considered not to have admitted his actions, which is one of the requirements for a JC application.
