LPSK Reviews Protection Request for Confinement Victim in Bandung
The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is reviewing a protection request from the family of a woman with the initials YTR (29), a victim of alleged violence and confinement in Bandung Regency, West Java. LPSK Deputy Chairperson Sri Suparyati in Jakarta on Wednesday stated that the review is being conducted to identify the protection needs for the victim and her family. “Currently, the request is being reviewed to further understand the protection needs,” she said when confirmed. LPSK has provided emergency protection to the victim and scheduled coordination with the Dr. Hasan Sadikin Central General Hospital in Bandung. Meanwhile, West Java Regional Police investigators arrested a suspect with the initials TH, also known as Taufik Hidayat, at a relative’s house in Griya Pesona Housing Complex, Ciparay, Bandung Regency, on Tuesday afternoon. West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan said the suspect will be placed alone in a detention room equipped with surveillance cameras and under officer supervision. Investigators will also involve several experts, including psychiatric experts, to determine the suspect’s psychological condition and to complete the investigation process. “We are involving several experts, including psychiatric experts, so that we have initial data regarding the suspect’s mental condition,” said Rudi.
