LPSK Reveals Reasons for Rejecting Sony Sonjaya's Justice Collaborator Request in MBG Corruption Case

The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has officially rejected the justice collaborator protection application submitted by former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sony Sonjaya, in the corruption case concerning the governance of the free nutritious meal (MBG) programme. “We have decided to reject it,” said LPSK Deputy Chairperson Susilaningtias to journalists on Tuesday, 14 July 2026. Susilaningtias further explained that the individual did not meet the requirements to be a justice collaborator as stipulated in the Witness and Victim Protection Law, Law Number 3 of 2026, and Government Regulation Number 24 of 2025 on justice collaborators. “Regarding the proceeds of crime, the willingness to return the proceeds of crime has not yet been conveyed. There has been no commitment on this matter so far,” Susi clarified. Furthermore, no statement has been openly submitted to the LPSK regarding the involvement of other, more significant parties. “And secondly, that information has also not been provided to investigators. Then, regarding not being a main perpetrator, the investigation found that the individual in question is indeed a main perpetrator,” she stated. “Thirdly, regarding threats or concerns about threats, there are none. As of now, we assess that there are none,” she continued. Based on these considerations, the LPSK concluded that the requirements for a justice collaborator were not met and therefore rejected the application from the individual in question.
