LPSK Reveals It Has Not Received Justice Collaborator Protection Request from Sony Sonjaya

The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has admitted it has not yet received a Justice Collaborator protection application from the former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sony Sonjaya, who has been named a suspect in the free nutritious meal (MBG) corruption case.

“Yes, the LPSK has not yet received a protection application from Mr Sony as a JC,” said Deputy Chair of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency, Susilaningtias, when contacted on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.

Susi explained that the LPSK is still waiting for Sony Sanjaya’s party to submit the Justice Collaborator application. “We are still waiting for Mr SS’s legal counsel to come to the LPSK,” she clarified.

Susi stated that Sony Sonjaya can apply for protection as a Justice Collaborator provided he completes the requirements to meet the criteria. “He can certainly apply as a JC. However, he must still complete the application requirements as a JC and meet the criteria as a JC,” Susi explained.

Previously, former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Sony Sonjaya, who was named a suspect in the alleged governance corruption case of the Free Nutritious Meal programme, applied for Justice Collaborator status to the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia.

Sony Sonjaya’s legal counsel, Krisna Murti, said this JC application was made because his client wishes to reveal the parties involved in this MBG corruption. “We have just come from the detention centre to obtain a statement from our client, where our client will declare that he is undertaking JC. Why are we doing JC? We are not evading legal problems; instead, we want to reveal and cooperatively uncover who is involved in this president’s flagship programme,” Krisna told reporters on Monday, 8 June 2026.

Meanwhile, Krisna revealed that in this incident, his client would name 20 parties allegedly involved in the corruption. “More than 20 names were mentioned, but our client said that was only a part of it, as during our break in the examination yesterday our client was quite tired and there will be a follow-up examination – we don’t know when the investigators will notify us – and he will reveal more. Yesterday he said those names were just a part of it,” he explained.
