LPSK Provides Protection in Andrie Yunus Acid Attack Case

The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has assured the provision of protection to the victim of an acid attack, Andrie Yunus, along with his family and the witnesses in the case. LPSK Chair Achmadi stated that protection measures have been in place since the incident first occurred and continue to be reinforced in line with the development of the investigation. “From the outset of this incident, we at LPSK have also taken steps to provide protection and assistance to the victim,” Achmadi said during a press conference at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Wednesday (18/3/2026). “On Monday, we also decided that protection must be provided to the victim, the victim’s family, and the witnesses. The number of witnesses could increase,” he added. According to him, LPSK will continue to coordinate with law enforcement authorities to ensure that protection runs optimally, especially if the number of witnesses increases along with the investigation process. In addition to protection, LPSK is also urging that the victim receive the best medical treatment to accelerate recovery. “Specifically for the victim, we are requesting the best medical services for the victim in the hope of a speedy recovery. We still have many tasks ahead,” he said. “And of course, this case must be investigated thoroughly, quickly, proportionately, and transparently, no matter who is involved,” he added. He further stated that LPSK is ready to carry out its protection mandate in accordance with its authority in assisting victims and witnesses. Previously reported, Andrie Yunus was doused with acid by an unknown individual on Thursday night (12/3/2026) at around 23:37 WIB in the area of Jalan Salemba I-Talang, Senen, Central Jakarta. As a result of the incident, Andrie suffered burns to his hand, face, chest, and eye.
