The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has officially decided to provide protection to FH, a key witness in the alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) case involving former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah (FA).

LPSK Deputy Chairperson Susilaningtias stated that the decision was made through the LPSK Leadership Council Session (SMPL) on 18 August 2026. The step was taken after considering FH’s strategic position, the information he possesses, and the potential threats arising from the seriousness of the case.

“FH has fulfilled the requirements to receive protection. We made the decision based on an assessment considering the special circumstances of the case, the seriousness of the criminal acts under investigation, and the potential threats against the person concerned,” said Susilaningtias in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (25/8).

The granting of protection refers to the latest legal framework, namely Law No. 3 of 2026 on Witness and Victim Protection, as well as Article 53 paragraph (4) of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). LPSK also referred to Article 49 of Law No. 3 of 2026 to assess the eligibility of FH’s application.

Based on the assessment results, FH is known to possess crucial information related to the Asabri-Jiwasraya mega-corruption case, which had previously been conveyed to law enforcement officials and the Attorney General’s Office. During the examination process, FH was considered highly cooperative.

The protection process began with a request from the Attorney General’s Office to LPSK on 30 July 2026. The request was submitted to ensure FH’s safety while maintaining the integrity of the information he holds so that it can be delivered safely in court.

Prior to this final decision, LPSK had provided emergency protection to FH. The forms of protection provided include fulfilling procedural rights as a witness, assistance in every examination process, and intensive security and safety monitoring.

Susilaningtias emphasised that profiling the parties involved in this case is a crucial point. “We look at the profiling of the perpetrator, because the person concerned once held office and had power. That is part of LPSK’s consideration in providing protection to FH,” she concluded.
