LPSK Deploys Team to Investigate Death of Doctor Icha in NTT
The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has moved quickly to follow up on the tragic death of Doctor Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni, known as Doctor Icha. LPSK Vice Chair Susilaningtyas confirmed that a team has been deployed to the field to provide protection for the victim’s family. “The LPSK team went down last week, to be precise on 28 June 2026,” Susilaningtyas said when confirmed on Tuesday (30/6/2026). Although the team is already on location and has met with the victim’s father, the family has not yet formally submitted a request for protection. This is because the family is currently focused on completing local traditional ceremonies. Doctor Icha was found dead at her parents’ home in the Baumata RSS Housing Complex, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Friday (26/6) at around 18.00 WITA. The young doctor’s death is strongly suspected to be a suicide triggered by severe psychological pressure. According to information gathered, Doctor Icha was allegedly intimidated by a member of the Timor Tengah Utara (TTU) Regional House of Representatives (DPRD). The alleged intimidation incident occurred while Doctor Icha was treating a child patient who was a victim of a snake bite at Leona Hospital on Saturday (13/6).
