LPSK Continues to Pursue Victims' Rights After Military Court Ruling
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is continuing the process of restoring the rights of the family of the victim in the murder case of the Head of BRI Cempaka Putih Branch, even though the Jakarta Military Court II-08 has issued a verdict against three TNI members involved in the case.
Deputy Chairman of LPSK, Antonius PS Wibowo, said that the restitution decision read out in the case only covers part of the total compensation claims filed against all perpetrators.
“Because there is still a process underway in the general court, the restitution decided in this military court is only part of the restitution that will later be processed in the general court,” said Antonius in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday.
In decision number 53-K/PM.II-08/AD/III/2026, which was read out on Tuesday (2/6), the panel of judges sentenced Muhamad Nasir, as the executor of the murder, to 13 years in prison and dismissal from military service. The defendant was also ordered to pay restitution of IDR 750 million.
Meanwhile, Feri Heriyanto, who was found to have assisted the main perpetrator, was sentenced to 7 years in prison, dismissed from the TNI, and ordered to pay restitution of IDR 500 million.
Frengky Yaru, who was found to have participated in the criminal act, was sentenced to one year in prison without being required to pay restitution.
According to Antonius, the legal process in the case has not ended because the parties still have the opportunity to pursue legal remedies in accordance with applicable regulations.
Therefore, LPSK will continue to assist the victim’s family in all stages of the legal process, including submitting restitution in the general court and if there are appeals against the military court’s decision.
“LPSK will continue to assist the victims and their families, including in submitting restitution in the general court process. If there are legal appeals in the military court, LPSK will also continue to provide assistance to the victims and their families,” he said.
In addition to overseeing restitution, LPSK has also provided recovery services to the victim’s family. In December 2025, the agency decided to provide psychological rehabilitation assistance and facilitate restitution to the victim’s wife.
Meanwhile, the victim’s mother-in-law received procedural rights fulfilment services and physical protection during the trial process.
LPSK affirmed that it will continue to oversee the fulfilment of victims’ rights until the entire legal process against the perpetrators has a final and binding decision.
