Jakarta — The Indonesian Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) has commenced disbursement of deposit guarantee claims for Bank Perekonomian Rakyat (BPR) Koperindo customers in the first phase, placing Rp14.19 billion with the designated paying bank.

The funds will subsequently be distributed to 166 customers whose deposits have been certified as eligible for payment in this initial phase.

“This represents a strengthening of customer confidence in the banking system. The LPS prioritises expediting and facilitating the claims process for depositing customers,” stated Nur Budiantoro, Acting Director of the LPS Secretariat Group, in a statement issued in Jakarta on Friday.

The deposit claims payment process commenced precisely four days after the Financial Services Authority (OJK) revoked BPR Koperindo’s operating licence on 9 March 2026.

Prior to commencing the payment process, the LPS conducted reconciliation and verification to determine the status of customer deposits in accordance with Law No. 24 of 2004 concerning the LPS, as most recently amended by Law No. 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK).

The LPS will complete the reconciliation and verification process within a maximum of 90 working days from the revocation of BPR Koperindo’s operating licence, or by 29 July 2026.

The LPS has published the names of customers whose deposits have been certified as eligible for payment on notice boards at the BPR Koperindo office.

Customers may independently verify their deposit status through the website lps.go.id by clicking the LPS application menu. Customers simply select the name of the liquidated bank and enter their account number in the deposit status sub-menu within the deposits menu.

If the verification confirms that the customer’s deposit is eligible for payment, customers may file their claim at the designated paying bank, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Jakarta Roxy Branch, located at Pusat Niaga Roxy Mas Block B1, K.H. Hasyim Ashari Street No. 1-2, RW 8, Cideng, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Customers need only bring the required supporting documents and draw a queue number. The paying bank will assist customers throughout the claims payment process. A list of required supporting documents is available on the website www.lps.go.id/faq.
