Amidst the excitement of a Zumba session, the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) set up an educational booth at the Sports Activity Centre (PKOR) in Bandar Lampung, Lampung.

The community-based exercise event was lively and met with great enthusiasm from the attendees. Participants in the Zumba session were invited to visit the LPS booth to complete forms and engage in various educational games. Those who participated in the games had the opportunity to win several prizes, including tumblers, fans, and various other souvenirs.

The Head of the LPS Regional I Sumatra Representative, Jimmy Ardianto, stated that socialising through sporting activities is one of the strategies used to convey information regarding the importance of saving in banks and to provide an understanding that public deposits are protected by the LPS.

“Our goal in conducting socialisation through sports is to ensure that citizens continue to save in banks and feel confident that their funds are safe because they are protected by the LPS,” Jimmy told CNBC Indonesia.

This activity is also part of the series of events leading up to the Lampung Financial Festival, which will be held on 5-6 September 2026 in Bandar Lampung.

According to Jimmy, an approach through sports and entertainment is considered to make the public more relaxed when receiving information. This allows LPS education to be delivered without always relying on formalised activities.

“Therefore, introducing our services to the public does not have to be through formal events; through events like this, they are more receptive and confident to continue saving in banks because they are protected by the LPS,” he concluded.
