LPS confident that when sharia aspects are implemented, everything is safe

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (DK LPS) Farid Azhar Nasution is confident that when all aspects of the sharia system are implemented, everything will be safe and this will become an ecosystem that will continue to grow.

“If all sharia aspects are implemented, then Mr Dicky Kartikoyono (from OJK) will have no work, because everything is already safe,” said Farid in Jakarta on Thursday, at the 2026 Sharia Finance Expo and Seminar (Eksis) organised by OJK.

According to him, Indonesia, which has the largest Muslim population in the world, has great potential for the growth of the sharia economy and financial system.

For this reason, Farid said, the existing potential must be maximised so that it does not merely remain potential, but can become a new ecosystem that can increase economic growth in Indonesia.

“So we are truly serious, because we believe that this is one of the potentials that must be maximised as best as possible, which ultimately is for Indonesia’s economic growth,” he said.

Previously, Farid said that since 2025 LPS has separated the management and operation of conventional and sharia financial systems to maintain public trust.

“LPS does not only regulate, but also implements it itself to maintain the trust of all stakeholders and the public regarding the sharia ecosystem,” he said.
