LPS and Jamdatun Strengthen Law Enforcement Synergy Through Cooperation Agreement
The Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) and the Junior Attorney General for Civil and State Administrative Affairs (Jamdatun) signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) at the LPS Office, Equity Tower SCBD, Jakarta, on Thursday (18/6). The agreement aims to strengthen synergy in legal assistance, handling civil and state administrative cases, and improving institutional governance.
The signing was attended by LPS Executive Director of Legal Ary Zulfikar, LPS Director of the Litigation Group, Junior Attorney General for Civil and State Administrative Affairs R. Narendra Jatna, LPS Director of the Investigation Group Tatit Triyanto, the Head of the LPS Legal and External Relations Bureau, and the Secretary of Jamdatun.
LPS Executive Director of Legal Ary Zulfikar stated that the agreement is an important step to strengthen the institutions and coordination between LPS and the Attorney General’s Office, particularly Jamdatun. “This agreement is an implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) and the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia Number MOU-3/DK01/2024 and Number 6 of 2024 dated 17 July 2024,” Ary said.
According to him, the cooperation is highly relevant to strengthen inter-agency coordination and synergy in supporting the execution of their respective duties and functions, especially in the areas of law enforcement and maintaining the stability of the national financial system. Ary emphasised that collaboration between LPS and Jamdatun is not new. The two institutions have long maintained intensive cooperation that has benefited the implementation of LPS’s duties.
“Jamdatun’s support has made a very significant contribution to LPS, particularly in ensuring that the execution of institutional duties can be carried out legitimately, accountably, and in accordance with the applicable legal framework,” he said. Since 2016, LPS and the Attorney General’s Office have also routinely held outreach programmes on LPS’s duties and functions for prosecutors. In the last five years, these activities have been held in Semarang in 2021, Malang in 2022, Bandung in 2023, Surabaya in 2024, and again in Bandung in 2025.
Beyond outreach, the two institutions have also strengthened cooperation through human resource capacity building. This included participating in a joint training programme titled “Murder and Accusation for Legal Professionals” in Rome, Italy, involving representatives from Jamdatun.
Meanwhile, Junior Attorney General for Civil and State Administration R. Narendra Jatna welcomed the signing of the PKS as a form of strengthening the commitment of both institutions. “I warmly welcome the signing of this PKS as a manifestation of our shared commitment. This cooperation is not something new, as we have previously built synergy in various activities. However, through this PKS, the collaboration becomes even stronger and more structured,” he said.
Narendra stated that cooperation between LPS and the Attorney General’s Office will continue to be developed, including through the integration of education and literacy programmes for the public, particularly in villages with high levels of financial vulnerability. “In this way, efforts to prevent and handle various potential violations can be carried out more effectively. I hope this PKS can further strengthen inter-agency synergy so that future programme implementation runs more optimally and provides tangible benefits to the public,” he said.
