The Food, Drug, and Cosmetics Research Institute (LPPOM) of Bangka Belitung Islands Province organised the LPPOM Halal Connect 2026 event, which took place on 9–10 September 2026 in Pangkalpinang. Carrying the tagline “Connecting the Halal Ecosystem”, the event was designed as a collaborative space for various stakeholders, including the government, financial institutions, academics, communities, and buyers, to weave a strong and inclusive halal ecosystem.

For the public and players in the creative and culinary industries, halal issues have shifted to become part of a modern lifestyle that prioritises product quality, cleanliness, and safety. The Director of LPPOM Bangka Belintung, Muhammad Ihsan, S.T.P., M.Si., expressed the grand vision behind this event with great enthusiasm.

“We want to realise Bangka Belitung MSMEs that are halal, competitive, and ready to penetrate both national and export markets. To achieve this, an ecosystem is required that connects business actors with various parties that can support their growth,” he stated in a written statement received by Republika on Thursday (10/9/2026).

This spirit was also reinforced by the statement from the President Director of LPPOM, Muti Arintawati. According to her, LPPOM believes that strengthening the halal ecosystem cannot be achieved by a single institution or sector alone.
