LPOI Chairman Meets Iranian Ambassador to Convey Moral Support
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Islamic Organisations Friendship Institution, Said Aqil Sirodj, conveyed moral support to the Islamic Republic of Iran in upholding the sovereignty of the state and nation, which he deemed in line with Islamic values and humanitarian principles. “We express full support for the struggle of the Islamic Republic of Iran in safeguarding the sovereignty of the state and nation as a manifestation of hifzunnafsi (protecting life), hifzuddaulah (protecting the state), and hifzuddin (protecting the faith),” stated Kiai Said Aqil in his remarks in Jakarta on Saturday. Kiai Said expressed concern over the various pressures and global conflicts faced by Iran, as well as an affirmation that Indonesia upholds justice and rejects all forms of colonialism. According to him, Indonesian society also calls for the unity of the global Muslim ummah and encourages the creation of peace through dialogue and international cooperation. The Islamic Organisations Friendship Institution hopes for the realisation of world peace, along with prayers for the safety and welfare of the Iranian people. “We fully support Iran with prayers and morals. We pray that the Iranian nation is granted inner and outer strength and victory,” said Kiai Said. As a symbol of friendship and solidarity, the Iranian Ambassador received a souvenir in the form of a keris from Kyai Said, interpreted as a symbol of courage and steadfastness in facing various global challenges. In addition, a request was conveyed for Indonesian tankers to be granted permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz with security guarantees, as part of efforts to maintain national energy stability. “I extend my thanks to the Indonesian government and people for conveying their support to us. Because they have shown that Indonesia is always on the right side of history,” stated the Iranian Ambassador.
