LPG Supply Secure, Bahlil Urges Public to Use It Wisely
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that the distribution of energy, including LPG, is running smoothly and in accordance with the established standards to date. “So our fuel oil stocks are, insya Allah, in a safe condition, meeting the minimum standards. Then, secondly, regarding LPG,” Bahlil said at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy office on Friday (27/3/2026). Nevertheless, he stressed that managing LPG requires joint efforts, particularly from the public in terms of consumption. This is considering that around 70% of the national LPG needs are still fulfilled through imports. “LPG requires our collective effort, and I advise the public to use LPG wisely. We know that 70% of our LPG is imported,” he said. Bahlil assured that the LPG supply remains maintained to date. Ships carrying supplies from various countries are also still in the process of delivery as planned. “But up to today, the situation is clear. The ships we purchased from several countries are still on track. So insya Allah, it’s safe,” he explained. Despite this, he reminded that the dynamic global conditions are making the competition for energy supplies increasingly tight. Therefore, wise use of LPG is key to maintaining national energy resilience. “Even if we have the money, but if the goods have to be competed for with other countries, we really have to safeguard it,” Bahlil asserted firmly. He also urged the public not to use LPG excessively so that distribution remains equitable and national needs can be met properly.
