PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Bagian Tengah has added 1.33 million canisters of 3 kg LPG to supplies in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) for the Islamic New Year 1 Muharram 1448 Hijriah holiday. The additional supply was distributed through a facultative scheme, or distribution outside regular channels, on Tuesday, 16 June 2026.

Area Manager Communication, Relations, and CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Bagian Tengah, Taufiq Kurniawan, stated that the supply increase is part of the company’s efforts to maintain energy availability for the public. The measure was taken to anticipate a potential rise in household LPG demand during the national holiday and long weekend.

“Of the total additional 1,339,560 canisters, 1,201,040 canisters are allocated for Central Java and 138,520 canisters for DIY,” Taufiq told journalists on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. According to him, the addition equates to approximately 84.79 percent of the normal daily consumption of 3 kg LPG in the Central Java and DIY region. With this addition, subsidised LPG stocks are confirmed to be in a safe condition to meet public needs during the Islamic New Year period.

Taufiq explained that Pertamina continues to monitor LPG distribution down to the official agent level. The supervision is carried out to ensure smooth distribution while anticipating possible demand surges in several areas.

In addition to safeguarding subsidised LPG supply, Pertamina is also encouraging those classified as financially capable to use non-subsidised LPG such as Bright Gas in 5.5 kg and 12 kg sizes. He noted that this step is important to support more targeted energy subsidy distribution. “3 kg LPG is a subsidised product intended for entitled communities. Therefore, we urge those who are able to switch to non-subsidised products,” he said.

Pertamina also reminded the public to purchase 3 kg LPG through official agents. Purchases at official agents are considered to provide price certainty in accordance with government regulations while guaranteeing stock availability and the quality of the product received by consumers.

During the Islamic New Year holiday period, Pertamina stated it will continue to monitor LPG supply and distribution conditions across all areas of Central Java and DIY. The company hopes these anticipatory measures will maintain smooth energy distribution and provide comfort for the public in carrying out activities during the holiday period.
