Nganjuk, East Java (ANTARA) - Indonesia Eximbank (LPEI) is encouraging exporting companies to expand their exports to non-traditional markets amid rising global geopolitical uncertainties. This step is crucial as demand from traditional markets weakens due to conflicts in the Middle East, prompting exporters to diversify their markets to maintain sales performance. Head of the NIA & Strategic Assignment Division at LPEI, Berlianto Wibowo, during a working visit to Nganjuk Regency, East Java, on Thursday, explained that LPEI has been given a special mandate by the government to provide support not available in commercial banking, through the National Interest Account (NIA) scheme. NIA serves as a state intervention instrument to ensure the continuity of national exports. “Perhaps from Indonesia Eximbank, we convey in detail that one proof of the state’s presence is indeed what we call a special mandate. The government provides one programme that is indeed given only to Indonesia Eximbank, different from commercial banks,” he said. The education covers understanding macroeconomic conditions, identifying affected destination countries, and strategies that businesses can take to survive amid changes. Berlianto explained that amid export conditions haunted by uncertainties, an educational approach is the initial step so that business actors can understand the situation before making business decisions. In addition, regular discussions with exporters continue to be held to update information related to risks in various destination countries.
