The trial regarding the alleged Rp 992.8 billion corruption involving the Board of Directors and Management of the Indonesia Export Financing Institution (LPEI), alongside the Directors of PT Tebo Indah and PT Pratama Agro Sawit (PAS), allowed defendants to present their defence or plea on Monday, 31 August 2026.

Handoko Limaho, Commercial Director of Tebo Indah, was the first to present his defence, explaining that he did not derive any profit from the disbursement of LPEI credit.

“I did not receive or enjoy any personal profit, let alone enrich myself,” Handoko told the Panel of Judges at the Central Jakarta District Court.

Handoko also denied the allegations made by the Public Prosecutor regarding the falsification of invoices.

“Our sales results were Rp 30 billion, while the alleged fictitious invoices amounted to Rp 13 billion; it is smaller, so for what? Why would one falsify documents of a smaller value?” Handoko questioned.

In another session, Tebo Indah Director Liu Raymond, when given his turn to defend himself, asserted that he performed his role according to his position and did not commit any legal violations.

“I have never misused company facilities. All company funds were used entirely for the development of Tebo and PAS,” he stated.

Raymond added that he received no money from the company other than his salary, official company facilities, and reimbursements. Witnesses presented in court had also stated that there were no fund flows proving that Raymond enjoyed personal profits.

“I have attached the results of the forensic audit of LPEI funds to Tebo in this plea. Please examine it,” Raymond continued.

Regarding the financial manipulation allegations, defendant Handoko Limaho reaffirmed that he never enjoyed any personal profit from the disbursement of LPEI credit to Tebo and PAS.

“I did not enjoy even a single penny,” said Handoko.

Not Criminals

Responding to the Public Prosecutor’s demand for an 11-year prison sentence, Handoko stated that such a demand was unjust.

“Raymond and I, as the former management, are not criminals. We worked with integrity and fulfilled our promises to the bank. On the contrary, it is the new management that intentionally refuses to pay instalments to LPEI,” Handoko explained.

Handoko, a father of three, further alleged that the LPEI funds were clearly and demonstrably used by Petrus Tjandra, as a shareholder and part of the new management, for personal interests.
