LPDP Scholarship Batch II Opens Tomorrow, Note the Selection Schedule and Rules
The Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) will officially open registration for the 2026 Phase II LPDP Scholarship starting Tuesday (30/06/2026). Registration will run until 31 July 2026 and is open to individuals wishing to pursue Master’s or Doctoral studies both domestically and abroad.
LPDP President Director Yon Arsal stated that for this year’s second selection phase, LPDP remains focused on funding human resource development required to achieve Indonesia Emas 2045. “The targets set by the ministry and the President’s directives are being implemented strictly. At least 80% of scholarship recipients are directed towards STEM fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics,” Yon said during a media briefing in Jakarta on Monday (29/06/2026).
The programmes available in Phase II include the Strategic Industry STEM Scholarship and the SHARE Scholarship (Social, Humanities, Arts for People, Religious Studies, Economics). Additionally, there are opportunities through the Leading University Acceleration Scholarship, Sports Scholarship, and the National Research and Innovation Talent track via the Doctor by Research pathway.

Registration: 30 June – 31 July 2026
Administrative selection: 3 – 27 August 2026
Administrative announcement: 28 August 2026
Rebuttal period: 29 August – 1 September 2026
Rebuttal announcement: 22 September 2026
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SBS): 27 September – 4 October 2026
SBS announcement: 9 October 20CO6
Substance selection: 14 October – 20 November 2026
Final announcement: 30 November 2026
Lectures commence: January 2027
New Regulations
LPDP Scholarship Director Dwi Larso stated that there are several relaxations in the requirements for this year’s second selection phase. One notable change is that applicants who already possess an Unconditional Letter of Acceptance (LoA) are no longer required to attach an English proficiency certificate.
For applicants who do not yet have an LoA, LPDP now accepts additional options for English proficiency certificates from domestic university language centres for certain applicant categories. Dwi noted that this policy was implemented to reduce cost barriers for prospective applicants.
“We feel that if a student has already secured an LoA, especially abroad, they have already passed a language screening. Therefore, we are relaxing the language rules. We also do not want many people to have to pay for expensive language tests only to ultimately not receive the scholarship,” he said.
Furthermore, LPDP has expanded its list of leading universities from 17 to 31 institutions. This consists of 17 universities open to all study programmes and an additional 14 universities specifically for STEM fields.
