LPDP Opens Second Phase of 2026 Scholarship Registration with Focus on STEM

The Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) has officially opened registration for the second phase of its 2026 scholarship programme, running from 30 June to 31 July 2026.

LPDP President Director Yon Arsal stated on Monday, 29 June 2026, that the second phase offers two main programmes: the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Strategic Industries Scholarship and the SHARE (Social, Humanities, Arts for People, Religious Studies, Economics) Scholarship. LPDP is also reopening the Acceleration Scholarship programme at leading universities, along with special partnership scholarships such as the Sports Scholarship and the National Talent Scholarship for Research and Innovation via the Doctor by Research pathway.

Arsal explained that the STEM scholarship covers strategic industry sectors including food, energy, defence, digitalisation—encompassing artificial intelligence and semiconductors—health, downstream industries, maritime, advanced manufacturing, and the creative economy. He noted that LPDP is also supporting STEM-related fields such as business and economics, as well as law and public policy that underpin strategic industries.

He emphasised that at least 80 per cent of the scholarship allocation will be directed towards STEM and STEM-related fields. “We are continuing to increase the STEM allocation, moving from 66 to 69 per cent in 2025 to 74 per cent, and we will try to reach at least 80 per cent for STEM and STEM-related fields,” he said.

LPDP Scholarship Director Dwi Larso added that there are several beneficial changes to the requirements for applicants, including relaxed provisions regarding foreign language test results and the Letter of Acceptance (LoA).
