LPDP Now Accepts English Test Scores from UGM, UNY, and 33 Other Indonesian Universities

Applicants for certain types of Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP) scholarships can now use English proficiency test results from domestic university language centres, including Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY). The policy took effect with the opening of the LPDP Scholarship Phase 2 registration period on 30 June 2026, according to LPDP Scholarship Director Dwi Larso. “This will likely boost their enthusiasm, because scores from 35 domestic universities can now be used,” Dwi Larso said during the launch of the LPDP Phase 2 Scholarships at the Djuanda I Building, Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, on Monday (29/6/2026). He explained that the new policy is designed to lower cost and distance barriers in meeting English test score requirements. “The cost is very affordable, and more importantly, the universities are accessible across almost all of Indonesia, spread evenly among state universities. Applicants no longer need to travel to Jakarta or other big cities, incurring large expenses, just to obtain a branded test score,” he clarified. The types of LPDP scholarships eligible for this provision include: the Affirmation Scholarship for overseas study for those who do not yet have an Unconditional Letter of Acceptance (LoA); the Domestic LPDP Scholarship for non-affirmation categories (general applicants, civil servants, military, or police); and the National Talent Research and Innovation Scholarship for overseas doctoral study by research for those without an Unconditional LoA. The LPDP 2026 Phase 2 registration schedule is as follows: Registration from 30 June to 31 July 2026; Administrative selection from 3 to 27 August 2026; Announcement of administrative selection results on 28 August 2026; Appeal period from 29 August to 1 September 2026; Announcement of appeal results on 22 September 2026; Scholastic aptitude test from 27 September to 4 October 2026; Substance selection from 14 October to 20 November 2026; Announcement of substance selection results on 30 November 2026; and the lecture period begins in January 2027. The 35 universities whose English test scores are accepted include Universitas Sumatera Utara (ECT), Universitas Andalas (TOEFL Prediction Test), Universitas Negeri Padang (Test of Academic English Proficiency), Universitas Syiah Kuala (TOEFL Prediction Test), Universitas Sriwijaya (USEPT), Universitas Riau (English Proficiency Test), Universitas Lampung (EPT), Universitas Indonesia (UI EPT), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ELPT), IPB University (EPT), Universitas Gadjah Mada (AcEPT), Universitas Padjadjaran (ELT), Universitas Diponegoro (SEU EPT Online), Universitas Airlangga (ELPT), Universitas Sebelas Maret (EAC), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (PTESOL), Universitas Negeri Malang (EPT), and Universitas Negeri Jakarta (TEP).
