LPDP Budget for 2027 Set at Rp3.93 Trillion, Targeting 12,000 Scholarship Recipients
The Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) has submitted a budget of Rp3.93 trillion for 2027 to the House of Representatives (DPR).
The sum will be allocated to scholarships worth Rp2.78 trillion, research at Rp597.93 billion, culture at Rp200 billion, and higher education at Rp350 billion.
“Expenditure requirements for 2027 have been allocated at Rp3.93 trillion,” said Albertus Kurniadi Hendartono, LPDP’s Director of Finance and General Affairs, during a hearing with Commission XI of the DPR on Monday (7/9/2026).
The majority of the total budget prepared will go towards scholarship needs, which amount to Rp2.60 trillion. The allocation aims to meet a scholarship target of 12,000 awardees, up from the 2026 target of 8,000 awardees.
“The 12,000 scholarship awardees will comprise both native LPDP recipients and those under collaboration schemes,” said Albertus.
Beyond scholarships, the 2027 expenditure budget will also be used for research, covering 25 projects, as well as the cultural endowment fund (DAKB) covering 12 services, and the higher education endowment fund covering 23 state universities with legal entity status (PTNBH).
“The scholarship programme for 12,000 people also supports the national priority programmes (PKPN) in the education cluster, through collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs,” he said.
