LPDB Koperasi is reinforcing its role in bolstering the national Sharia economy ecosystem. The inauguration of the Islamic Economic Society (MES) Central Board for the 1447–1452 H term, led by KH Ma’ruf Amin, expressed optimism about Indonesia’s Sharia economy future at The Tribrata Convention Center in Jakarta on Sunday, 24 May 2026. In his address, Ma’ruf Amin stressed that the Sharia economy has a bright future and must deliver welfare and justice for the wider population.

LPDB Koperasi’s Managing Director, Krisdianto, stated that the MES Central Board inauguration and National Working Meeting are pivotal moments to strengthen Sharia economy development in Indonesia. “We all know that the Cooperatives Minister also serves as the Permanent Chairman of the MES Central Board. The event was held solemnly and attended by many prominent figures deeply concerned with the development of Indonesia’s Sharia economy. This also aligns with the President’s directive for the Sharia economy to take the lead,” he said. He added that strategic initiatives and productive programs from MES are expected to drive Sharia economy growth across various sectors. “As part of the government, LPDB Koperasi is ready to proactively collaborate with MES’s initiatives to strengthen national Sharia economy development,” he added.

Meanwhile, LPDB Koperasi’s Sharia Financing Director, Ari Permana, emphasised that the new MES leadership is expected to boost Sharia economy growth in Indonesia, including through the cooperatives sector. “Today, we commit to continuing the development of the Sharia economy in Indonesia. We hope that following this inauguration, Sharia economy activities and growth momentum will improve, become more beneficial, and contribute positively to Indonesia’s economy,” said Permana.

On the other hand, LPDB Koperasi’s Director of General Affairs and Law, Deva Rachman, assessed that Indonesia has significant potential to become a leading global Sharia economy power, supported by the world’s largest Muslim population and collaboration among stakeholders. “This is a significant step in recognising Indonesia as the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation with immense potential to develop the Sharia economy and advance its ecosystem. The presence of key figures, including LPDB Koperasi representatives alongside the Cooperatives Minister and Deputy Minister, demonstrates that the Sharia economy and cooperatives are highly strategic forces,” said Rachman.
