LPDB Koperasi Strengthens Financing Access and Showcases Leading Cooperatives at 79th National Cooperative Day
The Revolving Fund Management Institution for Cooperatives (LPDB Koperasi) affirmed its commitment to strengthening the national cooperative financing ecosystem at the peak celebration of the 79th National Cooperative Day (Harkopnas) held at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno complex, Jakarta, on Sunday. The event carried the theme ‘Cooperatives Empowered, Indonesia Victorious’.
The event was attended by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, along with members of the Merah Putih Cabinet, the Board of Directors of LPDB Koperasi, leaders of state institutions, the Indonesian Cooperative Council (Dekopin), and cooperative members from across Indonesia.
The 79th Harkopnas momentum served to reaffirm the position of cooperatives as a main pillar of the people’s economy and a driver of inclusive national economic growth. In his remarks, President Prabowo Subianto stressed that cooperatives are a constitutional mandate and must become an instrument to improve the people’s welfare. He stated that the Indonesian economy must be structured as a joint effort based on the principle of kinship, as mandated by Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution. ‘Therefore, cooperatives must be strengthened, cooperatives must rise, becoming one of the tools to lift the people out of poverty and powerlessness, while villages must become new centres of economic growth,’ the President said in his address.
Meanwhile, Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono outlined the progress of the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperative programme, which continues to show significant advancement. To date, 83,000 cooperatives have obtained legal entity status, while physical infrastructure development is also ongoing. ‘The deeds for 83,000 legal entities of the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperatives have been completed. Meanwhile, 15,845 physical buildings, warehouses, outlets and supporting equipment are 100 per cent complete, with 19,539 currently under construction. So, the total is approximately 35,000, Mr President,’ said Minister Ferry. He added that, God willing, alongside the completion of training and education for village cooperative managers planned for early August, they will be placed in all Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperatives whose physical buildings, warehouses, outlets and equipment have been finished.
As a Public Service Agency (BLU) under the Ministry of Cooperatives tasked with channelling revolving fund financing to cooperatives, LPDB Koperasi actively participated by hosting a Revolving Fund Loan/Financing Coaching Clinic booth, which became one of the focal points of the Harkopnas event.
