The President Director of the Revolving Fund Institution for Cooperatives (LPDB Koperasi), Krisdianto, conducted a working visit to the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KKMP) Sampangan in Gajahmungkur District and KUD Usaha Mina in Semarang City, Central Java. The visit was part of LPDB Koperasi’s efforts to strengthen the national cooperative ecosystem while ensuring productive business development runs optimally and delivers tangible benefits to the community.

The visit began at KKMP Sampangan, which was inaugurated on 16 May 2026. In less than a month, the cooperative has shown rapid progress, reaching 250 members and generating a monthly turnover of approximately Rp60 million. According to Krisdianto, this achievement is a positive indicator that the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDKMP) programme has significant prospects to become a centre of community economic activity if managed professionally and supported through collaboration.

‘KKMP Sampangan is an example of how a cooperative can grow quickly when it receives community support and builds strong business partnerships. This is in line with the government’s spirit to make cooperatives an instrument for driving the people’s economy,’ Krisdianto said. In addition to having a representative cooperative building, KKMP Sampangan has established strategic partnerships to strengthen its business. The cooperative works with ID FOOD to supply staple goods such as cooking oil, eggs, rice, sugar, and other household necessities. It has also partnered with Pertamina for the distribution of LPG canisters and opened marketing access for various UMKM products owned by its members. This collaboration is seen as an example of how cooperatives can act as a bridge between industry players, micro-enterprises, and the community in building a sustainable grassroots economy.

Krisdianto subsequently visited KUD Usaha Mina to inspect one of the cooperative’s flagship business units, the production of block ice used as a cooling medium for the fisheries sector. This business unit plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of fishermen’s catches before they are marketed and supports the fisheries supply chain in coastal areas. Krisdianto noted that such productive ventures must be continuously encouraged so that cooperatives can create added economic value for their members.
