LPDB Chief Opens 2026 Pekan Kreatif Nusantara, Urges Regions to Strengthen Cooperative-Based Creative Economy
LPDB Koperasi President Director Krisdianto officially opened the Pekan Kreatif Nusantara (PKN) 2026 event at the Jetayu Sports Hall in the Jetayu Cultural Area, Pekalongan City, Central Java, on Thursday evening (18/6). The opening was marked by a gong-beating procession and ribbon-cutting at the exhibition area alongside Pekalongan Mayor Achmad Afzan Arslan Djunaid and the Assistant Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Cooperatives, Fiter B. Silaen. Following the opening ceremony, they toured various exhibition stands showcasing flagship products from MSMEs, cooperatives, the creative economy, Nusantara cuisine, and the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives) Festival, which is part of the Pekan Kreatif Nusantara 2026 series.
“On behalf of the Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono, I express the highest appreciation to the Pekalongan City Government and all parties who have initiated and organised Pekan Kreatif Nusantara 2026. This event is an important momentum to strengthen the real sector, expand the promotion of regional flagship products, and encourage collaboration among stakeholders in developing the people’s economy,” Krisdianto said during the opening, quoted on Friday, 19 June 2026. According to Krisdianto, Pekalongan City is one of the regions that has successfully demonstrated how culture-based creative economy can drive community economic growth. “For 12 years, Pekalongan City has maintained its UNESCO World Creative City designation in the field of Crafts and Folk Art. This achievement shows consistency in developing community creativity as part of regional economic development. This is an achievement that deserves appreciation and serves as an inspiration for other regions in Indonesia,” he said.
Krisdianto added that the government believes strengthening the national economy must begin with strengthening the people’s economy. Therefore, community creativity, innovation, and productivity must be supported by a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable business ecosystem. “In this context, cooperatives play a very important role. Cooperatives not only function as business entities but also serve as a means to strengthen the community’s economic capacity through the principles of mutual cooperation, togetherness, and participation,” he asserted. Furthermore, Krisdianto explained that the Ministry of Cooperatives is currently continuing to push for the strengthening of cooperatives as an instrument for developing the people’s economy, one of which is through the development of the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP).
