LPD Office in Cempaga Village, Bangli, Destroyed by Fire
The office of the Village Credit Institution (LPD) in Cempaga Village, located on Jalan Nusantara, Cempaga Village, Bangli Regency, Bali, was completely destroyed by fire. The fire also engulfed a restaurant located next to the LPD office.
“The fire involved the Babi Guling restaurant and the LPD office in Cempaga Village,” said Head of Public Relations at the Bangli Police, AKP I Ketut Gede Ratwijaya, in a statement to detikBali on Wednesday (February 25, 2026).
Ratwijaya said the incident occurred at 5:30 PM. At that time, a cook at the Babi Guling restaurant, named Ni Wayan Lentiari, was cooking.
Suddenly, the ceiling above her collapsed. The debris from the ceiling fell onto the stove where Lentiari was cooking. The fire then spread quickly to other parts of the restaurant.
“While Lentiari was cooking, the ceiling, made of woven bamboo, suddenly collapsed, hitting a pan and causing it to fall, which then ignited the ceiling,” said Ratwijaya.
Ratwijaya said that Lentiari and several residents tried to put out the fire. However, their efforts were not enough to extinguish the flames. The fire continued to grow.
The fire intensified and spread to the LPD office in Cempaga Village, completely engulfing it. Because the fire was too large, it was finally reported to the fire department.
“Residents tried to help put out the fire using water, but the fire grew larger, eventually engulfing the roof of the kitchen and the LPD office,” he said.
A total of four fire trucks from the Bangli Fire Department were deployed to extinguish the fire. The fire was finally extinguished at 7:00 PM.
There were no casualties in the incident. The estimated material losses are estimated at Rp 400 million.
“There were no casualties. The preliminary suspicion is that the fire was caused by a collapsing ceiling, which fell onto a cooking pan, causing the fire to spread and engulf the roof of the building,” he said.
