Low-Income Housing Development Project in Cikarang Begins Construction with Target of 3 Million Units
Danantara has begun development of a low-income housing project for underprivileged communities (Masyarakat Berpenghasilan Rendah) in Cikarang, West Java. The project will construct three million residential units on 30 hectares of land, as part of the president’s priority programme for low-income housing provision.
The official groundbreaking was attended by Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Chair of the Housing Task Force, Housing and Spatial Planning Minister Maruarar Sirait, Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani, Lippo Group founder Mochtar Riady, James Riady, Chair of the Pelita Harapan Foundation Board of Patrons, and West Java Provincial Government Secretary Herman Suryatman, who pressed the symbolic button at the site inspection on 8 March 2026.
The Cikarang location in West Java serves as a strategic hub for this major housing initiative, which aims to address the chronic shortage of affordable residential accommodation for lower-income households in Indonesia.
