Low-Cost Basic Food Market to be Launched by Prabowo, Offering 75% Discounts
President Prabowo Subianto attended the peak celebration of the 28th Anniversary of the National Mandate Party (PAN) at the Jakarta International Convention Centre (JICC), Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (18/09/2026). During the celebration, the President will launch the ‘Gerakan PANsar Murah Nasional’, a low-cost basic food market initiative designed to support the people’s economy.
“God willing, it will be launched. The PANsar Murah movement will be officially inaugurated by the President across all provinces in Indonesia,” said PAN Central Executive Board Chairperson, Putri Zulkiss Hasan, to reporters.
Putri explained that the movement involves a heavily subsidised scheme for essential commodities for those in need, including rice, cooking oil, sugar, and other staples. “The prices could be 50% to 75% cheaper than current market prices,” she added.
According to her, there are no specific requirements for members of the public wishing to participate in this programme, although there is an online registration process to obtain vouchers for the subsidised purchases. Additionally, quotas have been allocated for each province.
“The quotas vary by region; some are five thousand, some are ten thousand. The full details will be available on PAN’s social media channels,” said Putri.
Furthermore, she noted that as food security is a priority programme for President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, PAN aims to contribute to its success. She observed that if 50% of the public’s primary needs can be discounted, their remaining funds can be redirected towards other essential expenses.
In addition to this, PAN also maintains the ‘LaporPAN’ programme to directly absorb aspirations from the community. “There are various issues, ranging from economic to social concerns, including recent discussions regarding decile classifications and so on. These are handled directly through PAN members of the DPR at the regency, city, provincial, and national levels,” she concluded.
