Love-hate maids
Love-hate maids
Most people have a mixed feeling for foreign maids. Maids are
almost an indispensable commodity in many families, even
progressively taking over the job functions of their employers'
wives.
You can count your luck if you have chosen a good one, but not
everyone is that fortunate. We have read about too many tragic
stories between employers and their maids. We have seen really
bad maids and similarly cruel employers.
The recent incident of an Indonesian maid tossing her
employer's son down the flats before plunging to her own death
has shocked many families with maids. How well do you know about
your maid's mental health?
A young lady working alone in an unfamiliar land often needs
to make some psychological adjustments to the new environment.
Nevertheless, we discover that not many employers realise this
point. A lot of them try to make the best out of their money by
making their maids work long hours.
And such thing can cause mistrust and hatred to pile up and
eventually be turned into a time bomb.
Due to the evolution of our lifestyle, many families
increasingly find themselves hard to go on their lives without
getting a little help from these maids. If the relationship
between employers and their maids is not handled properly, our
lives and emotions will be jeopardised. Any negligence of this
crucial issue will only invite tragedies!
