Loud Explosion Heard in Qatar, Residents Urged to Stay Home
A loud explosion was reported in Doha, Qatar, prompting authorities to issue an urgent warning for residents to stay indoors. The Qatari Ministry of Defence later confirmed that its armed forces intercepted a missile targeting the country. The ministry announced on social media that the threat had been neutralised and the situation had returned to normal, without initially explaining the cause of the loud blast. While Iran has repeatedly attacked military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, it had refrained from targeting Qatar in recent days. Qatar, which maintains relatively friendly relations with Iran, has served as a key negotiator throughout the conflict. Earlier this week, Qatar condemned Iran’s repeated attacks on Arab nations in the Persian Gulf and the wider Middle East.
