The Makassar City Government is sterilising the Losari Beach pavilion area up to the MNEK Monument in the Center Point of Indonesia (CPI) zone from all forms of disorder in preparation to welcome international delegates. These various international delegates will be present in Makassar City for the Indonesia Gastrodiplomacy Series (IGS) Diplomatic Tour 2026, which will take place from 23 to 25 June 2026. Head of the Losari Beach Management UPTD, Muliyani Rosa, stated in Makassar on Saturday that her team has undertaken various anticipatory measures to welcome the arrival of delegates from different countries attending the IGS Diplomatic Tour 2026 in Makassar City. “We have certainly made anticipations. The IGS event will be attended by guests from abroad. Therefore, our preparations are being maximised so that the Losari pavilion and MNEK areas appear clean and comfortable,” said Muliyani. These efforts are being carried out intensively by a joint task force from Ujung Pandang District, the Losari Beach Management UPTD, the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the police, and several district and sub-district apparatuses to ensure the city’s flagship tourism area remains clean, orderly, safe, and comfortable when receiving international guests. “According to the schedule, the Losari pavilion and the MNEK CPI will be one of the important locations in the IGS event series to be visited by delegates,” she said. A number of agendas will be centred in the area, including the Ladies Program which will feature an exhibition in the MNEK Monument area initiated by the Makassar City Trade Office. Additionally, on 24 June, a dinner banquet will be held aboard a Pinisi Ship moored in the Losari Beach pavilion area. To support the smooth running of the entire series of activities, the Losari UPTD is paying special attention to cleanliness aspects, especially public facilities that will be used by delegates and invited guests. She emphasised that the cleanliness of public toilets is one of the main focuses. Although routine maintenance has been carried out, supervision and cleaning frequency are being increased ahead of the international event. Not only on land, the cleanliness of the coastal areas and waters around Losari Beach is also a serious concern in supporting this international event. Cleaning is being carried out on floating rubbish and various objects deemed to disturb the aesthetics of the tourist area. “For marine cleanliness, we are collaborating with Mariso District and Ujung Pandang District. Clean-up actions are routinely carried out so that the coastal and marine areas remain maintained and pleasant to look at,” she explained.
