A fatal accident occurred on the Pantura road in Cirebon, precisely in Junjang Village, Arjawinangun District, Cirebon Regency, on Tuesday afternoon at around 4 p.m. local time. A Mitsubishi Fuso Tronton lorry lost control and crashed into a roadside stall. As a result of the incident, a resident who was tending the stall died at the scene, while two customers at the stall sustained injuries. Cirebon Police Traffic Unit Head, AKP Yudha Satyo, explained that the tragic event began when the lorry, with registration number B 9485 FO, was travelling from Jakarta towards Tegal. The vehicle was driven by RDS (25), a resident of South Lampung. While approaching the Junjang Village traffic light junction, which was congested with queuing vehicles, the lorry driver was unable to control the speed of his vehicle. To avoid a multiple-vehicle collision with the traffic ahead, the driver spontaneously swerved the steering wheel to the left. β€œThe lorry ultimately crashed into two stalls on the left side of the road,” said Yudha on Tuesday. The heavy impact from the large vehicle caused the death of the stall keeper, identified as KW (58), a resident of Citikur Village, Ciwaru District, Kuningan Regency.
