Lorry Crashes into Busway Separator in Front of Parliament Building, Front Body Wrecked

A single-vehicle accident involving a soil lorry occurred on Jalan Gatot Subroto, directly in front of the DPR/MPR building, this morning. The lorry crashed into a TransJakarta busway separator.

“At the Pemuda gate heading towards Pluit. A lorry hit the separator,” stated a voice recording in a video uploaded to the official X account of TMC Polda Metro Jaya, as seen by detikcom on Saturday (20/6/2026).

From the uploaded video, the front body of the lorry appeared wrecked. The vehicle’s front tyre also came off.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at 5.53 a.m. Western Indonesian Time this morning. In the uploaded video, the front part of the lorry is visibly wrecked.

“05.53 Accident involving a soil lorry hitting the busway separator, with the vehicle positioned sideways, before the Pemuda Toll Gate on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, in front of DPR/MPR heading towards Slipi,” read the caption on the TMC Polda Metro Jaya X account.

Officers are currently in the process of evacuating the lorry using a tow truck. Road users are advised to be careful when passing through.

“Currently in the process of evacuation and towing, so motorists should remain cautious when passing,” wrote the TMC X account.
