Long Weekend Return Flow Sees 50% of Whoosh Passengers Returning to Jakarta
The long weekend return flow was observed on Whoosh services today, with 50% of passengers travelling from Bandung to Jakarta.
“Today, approximately 50% of Whoosh passenger activity was dominated by journeys from Bandung to Jakarta, 42% from Jakarta to Bandung, and the remainder were Karawang Station services,” said KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager Eva Chairunisa in a statement on Sunday (31 May 2026).
Eva stated that the increase in passenger volume coincided with people returning after using the long holiday for travel, family visits, and other activities.
“Passenger volume from Bandung to Jakarta began rising in the morning and is expected to continue until evening, particularly for popular departure times to Jakarta,” she added.
“We advise those using Whoosh services during the return period to check ticket availability in advance and transact online for easier access to suitable travel schedules and to purchase tickets early,” she added.
For online schedule checks, seat availability, and ticket transactions, the public can access the Whoosh app, ticket.kcic.co.id, Access by KAI, Livin’ by Mandiri, BRImo, Wondr by BNI, Tiket.com, Traveloka, and Trip.com.
For passengers from Bandung and surrounding areas, KCIC advises using the free Feeder Train service from Bandung and Cimahi stations to Padalarang, which is integrated with all Whoosh schedules.
“In addition to being free for Whoosh passengers, the service avoids traffic congestion, offering a more convenient option to reach the station during the high-mobility return period,” she explained.
Eva added that passengers should plan their journey to the station carefully and account for departure times to avoid missing trains. Passengers are also urged to arrive early as boarding gates for both Whoosh and Feeder Train services close five minutes before departure.
“By utilising integrated services and planning station travel times effectively, the public can enjoy a more comfortable, convenient return journey and avoid the risk of missing trains,” Eva concluded.
