Traffic heading to the Puncak area in Bogor Regency, West Java, began to fill with holidaymakers this morning. A one-way traffic management system was implemented this morning.

“As of this morning, a one-way flow from Jakarta towards Puncak has been opened,” said Iptu Ardian Novianto, KBO of the Bogor Police Traffic Unit, on Saturday (15/8/2026).

At 06.00 WIB, the number of vehicles heading to Puncak had begun to increase. However, according to him, there had not yet been a significant rise.

“But by 07.00 WIB, the number had reached 2,000 vehicles exiting the Ciawi Toll Gate, so at 07.45 WIB we implemented the one-way system heading uphill,” he explained.

This long weekend lasts until Monday (17/8) in commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. As a result, holidaymakers began crowding the Puncak area from the first day of the long weekend.

“Indeed, during this holiday period leading up to Independence Day, there are still many people who wish to go on holiday before celebrating Independence Day on Monday,” he explained.

Meanwhile, police officers around Simpang Gadog also distributed flags to passing motorists. The aim was to foster a spirit of nationalism among the public.

“We are also encouraging that, in the context of enlivening this independence moment, the Red and White flag should continue to fly along Jalan Raya Puncak,” he concluded.
